Democracy is dysfunctional

The American Democratic system

in its current state

is dysfunctional and self destructive

to a degree that threatens

America, Earth and Humanity.

. To continue as we have into the next decade is a huge mistake and the return I am seeing to business as usual has me very disillusioned. The illusion is that our Democracy works. Perhaps the great experiment has become corrupt as our Ship of State has gone far to long unamended by the kind of furious and passionate persons who first imagined it. I am chillingly reminded of the titanic as I see the separation grow between those with and without the very limited seats in precious life boats.

Every one of the Huge problems now facing America and all the rest of the democracies in the world can be traced directly to the adversarial relationships between parties or sides. The result of the kind of division that seems to be the default condition of modern democratic states is sabotage. Any progress made is dismantled and dismissed by the opposition as soon as the inevitable swing of the pendulum favors the "other". By its very nature such division becomes the focus while the good of nations is forgotten in the fray.
