LOUIS, MO, August 24, 2010 – KPLR-TV announced today the addition of THIS TV St. Louis, a 24/7 digital broadcasting network that features more than 4,000 films and over 10,000 TV show episodes on its digital sub-channel 11.2 in the St. Louis market only. Distributed on the station's secondary signal within the primary signal's digital bandwidth, THIS TV St. Louis will offer blockbuster and Academy Award-winning movies from some of the most prestigious Hollywood film libraries in the entertainment industry, including MGM, United Artists, Orion Pictures, Polygram, Cannon and Samuel Goldwyn Films.
Complementing these extraordinary movie libraries are family favorite TV shows such as The Addams Family, Green Acres, Flipper, The Outer Limits, and Cagney & Lacey. "We are excited to provide our viewers with this classic, high quality entertainment," said Spencer Koch, President and General Manager for KTVI FOX2 and KPLR 11.
In the life of a poor old man a good free TV channel is like winning the lottery or a gift from God. The St Louis aria really needed some free entertainment for the poor or near poor. I think it just might help desperate or lonely people make it through another day without doing something stupid or hurtful or terminal.
I had just said its a shame that some local channels don't use the sub-channels at all. Some one heard me? Any way I'm just a bit happy today watching The Angel Levine. (Harry Belafonte portrays a black angel from Heaven, on probation and assigned to provide a miracle for an elderly and impoverished Jewish tailor.)
